The startup, which connects consumers directly to established suppliers, plans to use the funds raised for marketing, branding, public relations, media placement, as well as to build its talent pool.
“It’s about time a traditional industry like diamonds experience a new way of delivering real value to customers,” said Kho. “It is a disruption to an old-school economy.”
Through Luxiee, consumers are able to choose from various loose diamonds certified by the Gemological Institute of America. They can then select a ring setting or purchase a piece on its own to be set at a later time.
