Technology services company Arpatech, best known for having successfully sold subsidiary EatOye to FoodPanda, announced today that it plans on acquiring instant delivery services provider Forrun. The financial value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
According to a statement released by the company, the acquisition is in line with an overall strategy to focus on the e-commerce, logistics, and technology verticals. Forrun Founder Faizan Leghari will stay on as the CEO, and the company will be a wholly-independent subsidiary of Arpatech.
The announcement is certainly exciting news for Pakistan’s nascent startup ecosystem. Forrun is only three months old, but it has already created quite a stir in the industry by signing on Foodpanda as one of its clients – becoming the first delivery services company in Pakistan to do so.
“We plan on using the capital injection by Arpatech to expand our operations to other cities, whilst also repositioning ourselves as a highly-efficient courier service – catering to a larger segment of consumers,” Leghari told Tech in Asia.
