Can Chinese team CIS get its visa in time for The International 2014?

CIS joins Arrow Gaming in visa woes for its trip to The International 2014 (TI4). Four of its players’ visa applications have gotten denied. One of its players, Lin “June” Shiyang shared this post on his weibo:

News: Four Chinese members on China’s CIS team have had their visas rejected. We are currently preparing for our second attempt.

According to a Gosugamers post, German player Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier is the only one in the team who can make it to TI4 since German citizens don’t need visas to visit USA.

Both Arrow Gaming and CIS are going to TI4 after placing first and second in the SEA and Chinese qualifiers respectively, but have so far failed to even secure visas for the trip to Seattle.

Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports helped Arrow Gaming by sending a recommendation letter to the US Embassy and the team is now scheduled for its second interview on June 25. Valve has also agreed to give Arrow Gaming better supporting documents so it is likely that CIS will ask for Valve’s assistance as well, although we’re not sure how far the Chinese government will go to help the team.
