Called AirAsia Pocket, the e-wallet is currently available to app users in Malaysia. Apart from getting a 10% discount for all AirAsia flight bookings, users will earn 10x AirAsia points with every food order on weekends.
For now, top-ups for the e-wallet can be made via Financial Process Exchange online banking, with more options to be available in the future.
AirAsia Pocket comes in two versions: Lite and Pro. The Lite version has a wallet-size limit of 500 ringgit (US$113.61), while the Pro makes room for larger transactions with a wallet size of up to 4,999 ringgit (US$1,135.87).
To develop the e-wallet, AirAsia partnered with Fass Payment Solutions (Fasspay), a white-label digital wallet provider in Malaysia. Fasspay’s platform allows AirAsia to customize the product and offer a variety of financial services to its users.

The new feature is “the final step in closing the loop” for the whole ecosystem, Amanda Woo, CEO of Air Asia super app, said in a statement.
Earlier this year, the company launched financial marketplace AirAsia Money in Indonesia to strengthen its fintech push in Southeast Asia.
