Sequoia India joins $45m round of Indian beauty e-tailer Purplle

India’s online beauty platform Purplle said it has raised US$45 million in investment.

  • New investor: Sequoia Capital India
  • Returning investors: Verlinvest, Blume Ventures, and JSW Ventures.

  • The capital injection will further help Purplle achieve an 8x to 10x growth within the next four to five years.
  • The company claims it has reached 7 million monthly active users and has nearly 50,000 products on its website and app.
  • With over 800 employees, the beauty e-tailer also claims it is growing at a rate of more than 90% year on year.
  • The latest round comes after the startup raised US$30 million in series C funding from Goldman Sachs and Verlinvest at the end of 2019.
