Gojek has officially launched GoRide Transit, which allows users to book a multimodal trip encompassing a GoRide (motorbike-hailing) service to the train station, a ride on the commuter train, and a final leg to their final destination with GoRide.
The new feature has been gradually rolled out in Indonesia since the beginning of September.
“GoRide Transit is a key part of our strategy to grow our total addressable market by expanding our reach to a wider segment of consumers,” Patrick Walujo, CEO of GoTo Group, said in a statement.
Previously, Gojek offered separate GoRide and GoTransit features. GoTransit was primarily used for booking train tickets and recommending multimodal routes. With GoRide Transit, users can save up to 27% per trip on average and cut travel time by 15%, according to the company.
Gojek said this new feature is particularly cost-saving for longer trips, which could benefit many workers residing in suburban areas in Bogor, Bekasi, and Tangerang who commute daily to Jakarta for work.
GoTo Group posted a net revenue of 3.6 trillion rupiah (US$232 million) in the second quarter of 2023, an 87% increase from the same period last year. The group aims to achieve positive quarterly adjusted EBITDA in Q4 2023.
