Cherry on the cloud: a SaaSy way to act fast on customer feedback

Chennai is the SaaS capital of India. First off the block was Zoho way back in 1996, with an affordable office suite on the cloud. An employee of Zoho, Girish Mathrubootham, struck out on his own to start Freshdesk, which today is a global leader in customer support software. Momentum built up and there’s no stopping now for on-demand subscription-based software made in Chennai and delivered anywhere in the world. A recent event in Chennai had 120 SaaS entrepreneurs packed in a hall, sharing insights.
Cloudcherry is the latest of the Chennai-based SaaS product companies to come into the spotlight after securing its first external funding from The Chennai Angels and IDG Ventures. The amount of the funding has not been disclosed.
Cloudcherry’s product helps track customers in real time and provides a host of new metrics. This is increasingly becoming vital for startups and companies introducing new products and services, as they try to act quickly and intelligently on customer feedback. For example, the Cloudcherry product lets you set a condition and mark who gets notified as soon as a customer reacts, or customize a ‘delight meter’ according to requirements, or use an ‘insight filter’ to drill down as far as you want to go, or make questions to customers location-specific, and so on.
“Brands today wish to differentiate themselves on superior customer experiences,” says Vinod Muthukrishnan, CEO and co-founder of Cloudcherry, adding that the investment will help add more features and support to its real-time customer feedback and analytics product.
Sometimes all it takes is a quick, genuine response for a customer to be delighted rather than disgruntled. The Cloudcherry app promises to get companies up to speed on this, whether it’s a restaurant manager alerted about a diner unhappy with her sauce or a retailer jumping to the aid of a shopper who can’t find something. More fundamentally, however, tools like those offered by Cloudcherry help a company understand its user data better and come up with the right metrics to point them towards improvement. And finally, it’s an omni-channel product – in other words, it helps track customers on whatever platform they are on.
