Chinese online housing firm Beike starts new round of layoffs
Chinese online housing firm KE Holdings, also known as Beike, is facing a new round of layoffs, reported TechNode, citing Chinese publication The Paper.
The company’s operations, research and development, and mid- and back-end services teams will be affected. Based in Beijing, Beike had reportedly previously downsized its operations in secondhand and new property transaction services groups in March this year. The company denied these claims.
The firm’s financial report shows that it saw a net loss of US$78 million in 2021.
China’s tech industry has witnessed many recent layoffs, affecting large companies such as Alibaba, Blibli, JD.com, and Tencent.
