1. Nota, Inc. | Japan

Nota Inc. is the Kyoto-based startup behind cloud-powered screenshot app Gyazo, which allows users to instantly upload screenshots to the cloud and share them with custom URLs. The app recently won best pitch at Innovation Weekend Osaka and will be competing for the grand prize in Tokyo next month.

The startup also announced a series A fundraising round led by Opt and joined by Yahoo Japan’s YJ Capital subsidiary and Miyako Capital (Kyoto University’s investment fund).

2. BitX | Singapore

Singapore-based company BitX recently released a mobile Bitcoin wallet for the iOS and Android that could meet these lofty consumer expectations. Its philosophy echoes that of other consumer-oriented wallets like Hive, but with a bit more polish.

3. Tripoto | India

Launched in 2013, Delhi-based startup Tripoto lets them share their travel experiences, post itineraries and stories along with pictures, maps, and reviews. The company just raised a seed round of funding to become more tech-savvy at doing this.

4. SALt | Philippines

SALt or Sustainable Alternative Lighting’s goal is “to give light to as many homes as possible.” SALt’s lamp looks nothing extraordinary – it also makes use of a LED bulb. However, the lighting system doesn’t require electricity, batteries or even fuel to run. All it needs are two basic and natural things: salt and water.

5. iCarAsia | Malaysia

Malaysia-based automotive marketplace iCar Asia this week jumped to the head of the pack in Thailand with the acquisition of one of the country’s largest vehicle classifieds sites, One2Car. The latter will be combined with iCar Asia’s native Thai website, ThaiCar, which the firm acquired earlier last year.

6. Cupick | India

Cupick is an online platform for artists to showcase, sell, and promote their art virtually. The idea is to make art accessible and affordable to masses. The startup also offers a space for artists who wish to raise funds for social causes.

I love creating great experiences for people. Also dabbles in florals and lettering, a fair bit of gaming, and enjoys lots of traveling. Happy to connect for collaborations for Tech In Asia events!
