Thai digital assets startup banks $1m in seed money from Zipmex, SOSV

Atato, a digital assets startup based in Thailand, has raised US$1 million in seed funding in a round led by Zipmex Asia, global VC firm SOSV, Chinaccelerator, and other major angel participants.

Founded in 2017, Atato develops tailor-made platforms to help companies connect their businesses with blockchain networks. The startup helps its clients create, store, and manage digital assets in full compliance with Southeast Asian regulations.

The company said it serves financial institutions and digital asset service providers across the region, including those in the private and public sector. It plans to use the new funds to further build out its products and strengthen its team, security, and compliance.

“We thrive to explore new opportunities through new projects, ranging from custody solutions, DeFi opportunities, and in time to come, a native Zipmex blockchain,” said Zipmex’s Thailand CEO Akalarp Yimwilai. “This investment is in alignment with our roadmap as we plan to diversify our products and services to become a key player in this region.”

Zipmex is a Singapore-based digital assets exchange that looks for global investment access for cryptocurrencies and makes them available on its platform. Earlier this year, it raised US$6 million in a funding round led by US venture capital firm Jump Capital.
