East Ventures puts $700k follow-on capital into Indonesian digital media startup

  • Asumsi, which mainly deals with videos, will use the fresh funds to launch a livestreaming platform by the middle of next year.
  • According to a statement, the platform will be available to everyone and will have features like tipping, quizzes, and questions and answers.
  • On top of its current focus on politics and social issues, Asumsi will expand its coverage to sports and lifestyle. Pangeran Siahaan, the company’s chief executive, was a sports journalist and presenter before founding the startup.
  • Asumsi’s annual revenue has grown 10x from when it raised seed funding from East Ventures last year.
