Yesterday we wrote that there was speculation in the Chinese media about video giant Tudou giving up on its IPO plans, in the hopes of being acquired, possibly by Youku.
However, Tudou is saying today that it still intends to go public and that everything is on schedule, this according to a report from Reuters today. A Tudou representative declined to comment when we made contact yesterday evening.
Elsewhere in the Chinese video space, Ku6 just announced its acquisition of Pipi.cn, a P2P-based video platform. It looks like we’re finally beginning to see some consolidation among the many players in a very crowded online video market.
