Last month we started doing a top ten rundown of China’s hottest PC games as measured by independent gaming site 17173, on the theory that it’s less biased than the top 10 lists coming from game publisher owned media outlets in China. And now we’ve got the latest updates for you; the results are a little surprising:

As you can see, Korean MMORPG Blade & Soul, which was in the top five last month, has disappeared completely from the top ten. World of Tanks and Yulong Zaitian have clawed their way onto the list, and although you can’t see it in the top ten just yet, Dota 2 has been charging up the charts and could be making an appearance any day now.
The data in the infographic above comes from 17173’s hot games list, which is compiled based on data collected by 17173 including user traffic, behavior patterns, and pageviews for articles, news, and discussions about various games. It’s not necessarily a reflection of exactly what China is playing right now, but it’s a good reflection of the games Chinese gamers are most interested in and talking about.
