Israeli game developer CrazyLabs acquires Indian gaming studio

CrazyLabs, an Israel-based game developer, announced that it has acquired India-based hyper-casual game development studio Firescore Interactive in a “multi-million dollar” deal.

The deal is part of CrazyLabs’ strategy to expand in India, grow its game development business, and step up the activity of its gaming accelerator, CrazyHubs. The exact financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

According to a statement, the deal marks the final step in an ongoing collaboration between CrazyLabs and Firescore Interactive, which started over two years ago with the release of the mobile game, Soap Cutting. In 2020, CrazyLabs published Firescore Interactive’s second hit game, Acrylic Nails, and helped launch its first online hyper-casual gaming accelerator in Mumbai, India.

Surojit Roy, co-founder of Firescore Interactive said small and medium India-based studios needed “the know-how, the experience, and the professional tools to create hyper-casual hit games” in the highly competitive hyper-casual gaming segment.

Firescore Interactive has over eight years of experience in developing mobile games. The company said Soap Cutting had been downloaded over 90 million times, while Acrylic Nails had notched more than 85 million downloads.

The Indian firm’s team also currently serves as mentors and local operations partners for CrazyLabs’ accelerator.
