Krungsri Finnovate joins $41m round of Singapore digital assets exchange
Zipmex, a Singapore-based digital assets exchange, has raised US$41 million in its latest funding round.

- Other investors: Krungsri Finnovate, the venture capital arm of Bank of Ayudhya, as well as Plan B Media, Master Ad (MACO) of Thailand, and Hong Kong-based MindWorks Capital

- Zipmex will use the new funds to grow its technology team and develop more products.
- According to the company’s statement, this marks the first investment into a digital assets platform by a top-tier bank in Southeast Asia.
- Zipmex currently operates in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Australia. It has almost 1 million clients and has processed more than US$4 billion in gross transaction volume to date.
- The company works under regulatory supervision in Indonesia and Australia, and it’s set to be licensed in Thailand. In Singapore, Zipmex is in the advanced stages of applying for a major payment institution license with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
- Recently, Zipmex launched ZipWorld, a digital assets platform that can be integrated into the booming non-fungible token space.
