Casual Connect Asia 2014: Boomzap says no to hidden-object-puzzle-adventures, shows off four new games

Boomzap Entertainment, best known for hidden-object-puzzle-adventure games like Antique Road Trip, is finally trying something new! The four new games we previewed today at Casual Connect Asia 2014 are testament to that.

The first, as you already may have guessed, is The Quest. We first caught wind of collectible card action game The Quest early this year, and will be privy to a full preview of the beta stage game shortly. The Quest will allow players to traipse through a fantasy world, doing battle with bandits through a flipboard of cards.

The next game Boomzap has in development is Turnspell Tales, a scrolling match-3 puzzle adventure that creative director Christopher Natsuume says is Boomzap’s response to Candy Crush Saga. Turnspell Tales shares the same mechanic as an older Boomzap game called Jewels of Cleopatra, but has been refreshed and updated for the mobile platform.

Boomzap Fight Club, on the other hand, is something completely new. In this game, players will be able to take control of a mixed martial arts (MMA) gym, and oversee both its management and its players’ fights. Boomzap Fight Club is still in early stages of development.

Finally, there’s Pillage People. Its cutesy name belies its nature, as Pillage People is meant to be an equivalent of Clash of Clans, minus the hindrance that is a constant paywall. The game will feature three different races, with more to come after launch. While launch is still a ways away for some of the games Boomzap showed Games in Asia today, we’ll be getting preview builds of each one, so watch out for that!
