Canine Life preview: run your own dog shelter with Wigu Games (Casual Connect Asia 2014)
Wigu Games, the studio behind premium hospital sim Doctor Life, is going to let you take charge of yet another occupation: manning an animal shelter for dogs.

First showcased for Casual Connect Asia 2014’s Indie Prize, Canine Life is an in-depth management simulator that returns to Wigu’s trademark cutesy art. The sim will put players in charge of an adoption centre for dogs, which they must maintain and upgrade as they simultaneously train dogs and get them ready for their new homes. Over 50 different breeds of dogs will be available in the game.
Dogs in Canine Life must first be adopted from the pound, after which they are free to roam the adoption centre and enjoy the facilities there. Players will be able to groom the dogs, train them, and then match them to prospective owners. They also need to field specific requests from potential owners. Check out more screenshots!
As someone who (full disclaimer) helps run a dog shelter in real life, all this is spot-on sans the mess that comes with caring for multiple dogs.
The attention to detail Wigu Games has for its work definitely marks Canine Life as a sim to look out for. Canine Life is currently in its early stages of development with a name that may or may not change.
