Borneo, a Singapore-based data security platform, has bagged US$15.5 million in a series A funding led by Vulcan Capital. Participants in the round include Prosus Ventures, Lytical Ventures, and existing investor Wavemaker Parners.

The funding took Borneo’s total amount raised to date to US$18 million.

Founded in 2020 by former Facebook and Uber executive Prithvi Rai, Borneo offers security and privacy solutions for technology firms that want to strengthen their privacy compliance.

“We integrate with your existing security stack to provide the required privacy data intelligence and prevent data leaks and privacy violations,” Rai said in a statement.

Borneo is already working at cloud scale with some technology companies and has seen higher demand for its solutions amid the current wave of public listings among such firms. The startup plans to use the fresh funds to invest in its platform and meet customer demand.
