Pollenizer to seed first Southeast Asian startup as co-founder and investor
Australia-based startup accelerator Pollenizer is making an entrance to Singapore, and they hope to start their first business in Southeast Asia by July.
They’re seeking a co-founder to work with. Unlike other accelerators, Pollenizer acts not just as an investor but an active co-founder. Applicants have the option of investing their own money in exchange for more equity.
The accelerator is aiming to build a company that solves a real problem in at least one Southeast Asian country. They prefer mobile-first business models that can be built and tested with real customers in two months.
Here’s their other criteria:
- You know what you are selling and you sell it to everyone you meet. Every day. From the very start.
- You are gutsy enough to release the product a bit sooner than you feel comfortable to … so you can learn.
- You will fight for what you believe is the right path, but you will let go if the data proves you wrong.
- You are comfortable with uncertainty.
- You have read Lean Startup 3 times.
Pollenizer was started by Phil Morle, the founder of Spreets (sold to Yahoo!7) and the ex-CTO of Kazaa. As an angel investor, he funds five to 10 startups at US$100k a year.
