8 Business and Technology Trends in 2011

trends-2011A couple more days before the year 2010 draws to a close and we cheer for a great 2011 ahead.

To add to your joy, we have compiled a list of technology and business trends to watch in 2011 (hurray).

We don’t think we’re fortune telling. Rather, the list is logically based on what we have learned in the market today. Catch them below and feel free to add in your thoughts via comments. Enjoy.

1. The Internet

The Internet would be the biggest trend, always, at least for the next couple of years. Without this virtual world, practically nothing below would exist. The ‘awesome size of the Internet’ is going to grow bigger. You’re definitely a dinosaur if you aren’t taking advantage of simple Internet tools like Google Docs, Facebook or even the Email.

2. China

We have heard a lot about China this year. Facebook, Google, Groupon, Dell, Lenovo, Acer and many more large corporations are gearing up for an epic China battle over market share in their respective fields. In fact, the PC war in China has already started. Facebook could soon enter China if the Facebook chief recent visit to the country has borne fruits.

With over 400 million Internet users and 700 million mobile subscribers, it isn’t hard to pick China as a must watch in 2011. But it’s a tough market to enter. The three major stumbling blocks would be her law, culture and language. Your best bet to pass through these barriers is to start networking with people who at least generally understand the East and West culture. (Hint: Chinese, Taiwanese, Malaysians and Singaporeans)
