BurNIng and rOtk officially announce retirement as players

The list of The International 2014 (TI4) retirees continues to grow after Team DK’s Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei and Vici Gaming’s (VG) Bai “rOtk” Fan officially announced their retirement on Weibo.

Here’s BurNIng’s post on weibo:

Here’s an English translation from Reddit users carrymubage and arts1:

Today is an important day for me, as I decided to bid farewell to professional Dota and leave the professional scene.

7 years of Dota and 6 years playing professionally has led me through a lot of patches. I was glad to have played and get in the professional scene, to win uncountable honours and glories, to achieve objectives one by one. Dream is a luxury for some, as there is some I still regret about. Never question your purpose, that’s how you win everything. All the way down, all I ask is that I did my best.

The more I had in mind is my gratitude. My gratitude towards Dota, that brought me to this stage and gave me the chance to express myself. I would also like to take this chance to say thank you to my teammates and opponents, for I won’t be here now without you. I would also like to thank my friends who encouraged and criticized me.

Today marks the end of my professional career. I hope it’s a comma rather than a full stop. No matter how reluctant I am, the day has come. Just like when they asked me last year: what’s your youth? My answer: my youth is Dota. Now that my youth has gone with retirement, these precious, sparkling memories remain in the bottom of my heart, forever.

I will still keep myself in the scene after retirement, probably beginning with developing new talents at clubs, sharing the experiences and methods I’ve gained and helping them grow. I will also be making my way to some LAN events with Rotk, and hope that you’ll come meet me if you’re interested.

Here’s rOtk’s post:

Here’s an English translation again by Reddit user carrymubage:

After a period of reflections I made the decision to retire. Probably the four or five years of professional Dota has been too exhaustive and has pushed my body to a limit and I want to rest. During my 3 years in DK, happiness, success, and depress has been on my track of youth. This one year in VG, I have felt my growth and my ability to take responsibilities. Thank you to the club and my teammates for your trust in me, you are always the best! Finally one of my only two sons (Sylar) has been fighting with me in the same team so I no longer regret anything. Shitty Bun (Super), as my teammates for four or five years, words are not needed between you and me. I will not leave you, just like what we said when drinking the other day, there is you and there is me. Son (Sylar), you are not a good drinker and we haven’t talked too much to our hearts, but I tried my best, and that’s enough. Anyway, wish everyone happy in the future, as happiness is the most important thing.

Also thank you to this school named Dota. I have many classmates from this school and also wish you happy. If there is anyone that ask me in the future, I would say I graduated from Dota and I am proud of it!

Although we have only been in VG for one year, I will never forget this team. The best newcomer Ah Qiang (fy), after whom Rubick is named. What you need is a calm heart and more experience. The best 5th, Fenrir, you are Ah K in my heart, every single victory doesn’t come without your selfless devotion. Best 2th, Ah Cai, there are so many heroes that you play at the level that they can be named after you. The morphling player, Liu J, you are known for being stable and reliable, but I also hope your playstyle could be more aggressive in the future. Hunter, Xiumi, Mao18, I wish everyone in the club success in the future.
