TikTok, Tencent Video among top 10 apps in lifetime consumer spends
China’s TikTok, Tencent Video, and iQiyi are among the top 10 mobile apps in terms of lifetime consumer spending, according to the latest report from App Annie.
The report accounts for both Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

The list is dominated by US-based mobile apps such as Tinder, Netflix, YouTube, Pandora Music, Disney+, and HBO Max. Japan-based messaging app Line also made it to the top 10.

Google’s YouTube surpassed US$3 billion in terms of consumer spending worldwide on Apple’s iOS as of October 17, 2021, the report added.
Just from their iOS revenue, YouTube was ranked third among all non-gaming apps by global lifetime consumer spend as of October. However, it is the top livestreaming app by spends if you take take iOS and Google Play combined revenues as of October 10.
The report attributed this to a shift in daily routines across the world, with consumers spending an increased amount of time streaming video and music.

Coming in next is TikTok with over US$2 billion in consumer spending worldwide on iOS and Google Play combined.
In the third quarter of 2021, however, TikTok was no. 1 in terms of consumer spends, followed by YouTube and Tinder. Tencent Video placed seventh.
