In brief: Bukalapak launches digital wallet
Indonesian ecommerce site Bukalapak today announced the launch of BukaDana, its e-wallet feature, the result of its partnership with digital wallet service provider Dana.
The feature will enable users of Bukalapak’s online marketplace to pay for purchases using a “fast and secure” method; it will also serve as an account to accept refunds.

BukaDana represents the ecommerce unicorn’s latest push into financial services, following its forays into offering loans, credit, and insurance options. It has also launched mutual fund and gold investment platforms.
Bukalapak co-founder and CEO Achmad Zaky recently said that the marketplace would be increasing its offline presence in an attempt to tap the 90 percent of Indonesians that don’t regularly shop online.
BukaDana has been available for users of Bukalapak’s Android and iOS mobile apps since August 10.
