Pitch your ideas to these 8 investors at TIA Jakarta 2018’s Speed Dating

The investment scene in Southeast Asia has been bustling with activity. In 2017, funding hit a record of US$7.86 billion, more than tripling 2016’s US$2.52 billion. If you’re looking for funding opportunities to bring your company to the next level, then you’re in luck.
This October 23 & 24, over 50 keen investors will be gathered at Tech in Asia Jakarta 2018’s Speed Dating segment in search of the next disruptive startup. Here are eight of them who will be present.
1) East Ventures
The firm focuses on early-stage ventures in Southeast Asia and Japan. They have invested in more than 150 companies, including early bets on ecommerce giant Tokopedia, flight search engine Traveloka and cashback company Shopback. 2) Sequoia Capital

As one of the most active investors in the tech space, Sequoia Capital needs little introduction. Companies in its portfolio has a total public market value of over US$3.3 trillion, including the likes of Apple, Google, YouTube, WhatsApp and LinkedIn. While the firm partners with companies at all stages, they prefer to be involved at the very beginning, during a company’s seed-stage or Series A-stage.

3) Golden Gate Ventures
Golden Gate Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm investing across Southeast Asia. Since 2011, the firm has backed over 30 companies across more than seven countries. The firm invests in internet & mobile startups across various sectors, and have successfully helped companies such as Redmart, Carousell and Bilna raise multiple rounds of financing from top-tier global investors.

4) Venturra Discovery
Venturra Capital’s new seed arm, Venturra Discovery was launched last month. Till date, they have backed three startups, and plan to invest in 30 to 40 portfolios over the next four years. The fund aims to fill in the gap brought about by the decrease in the number of early-stage funding channels in Southeast Asia.

5) Singtel Innov8 Ventures
Innov8 looks to invest into a company from its seed to early growth stages. The corporate venture capital fund acts as a platform to leverage Singtel Group’s customer base from markets across more than 20 countries and enterprise customers through its offices in Asia Pacific, Europe and US. The firm has presence in Singapore, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv and other markets.

6) Convergence Ventures

Led by seasoned professionals with extensive experience in internet and mobile businesses in emerging markets, the venture fund leverages its industry insights and network to empower founders. The firm invests primarily in companies focusing on Indonesia or are looking to expand into the country.

7) MDI Ventures
The corporate venture capital initiative by Telkom Indonesia focuses on early and mid-stage companies, with an aim to empower the growth of digital entrepreneurship and build Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem. The firm is based in Jakarta, with operations in Singapore and Silicon Valley.

8) Spaze Ventures
Spaze Ventures is a startup incubator headquartered in Singapore providing seed capital and intensive hands-on mentorship to startups from idea to seed stage. They have funded more than 10 ICT startups and like to engage and invest at the earliest stage possible, helping startups launch their products, go-to-market and expand overseas.
