Get nostalgic with the release of Far Cry Classic

Far Cry 3 may be Ubisoft’s most recent and most popular entry in the Far Cry series, but it all started a decade ago with the original Far Cry. To celebrate the anniversary, Ubisoft has released a downloadable console version of the original game it is calling Far Cry Classic. Far Cry classic is available for PS3 and Xbox 360, and features reworked visuals and controls.

It may not look as great as its modern descendants, but if you can’t get enough of shooting your way through the tropical islands of Far Cry 3, why not spend some time shooting your way through the tropical islands of Far Cry Classic for the sake of variety? Here’s the trailer:

Ubisoft is also offering Far Cry bundles in the US and Europe, but they’re different and it’s not clear what, if anything, will be available in Asia. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for comment on that and will update if we hear back, but if you’re looking to pick up all the Far Cry games in one shot, the European bundle (Far Cry: The Wild Expedition) is the one you’ll want to be looking for once it releases on February 21.
