Luggage delivery startup Bellugg bags pre-series A funding from Expara, 500 TukTuks

Founded in 2016, Bellugg offers luggage delivery, deposit, and pickup services, as well as tourist commerce services that deliver products to hotels or airports in the country. It provides an interactive tracking system and insurance that covers up to 50,000 baht per luggage.

“We strongly believe that the luggage delivery service will soon be a standard practice for the tourism industry,” Sithi Nerngchamnong, co-CEO and co-founder of Bellugg, said.

The company will use the new funds to ramp up its revenue, expand its presence, invest more in research and development, and make new hires.

“Travelers will spend more on experiences and not just physical things. Bellugg is a leading platform that captures data across a tourist’s journey. Utilizing insights from the tourism industry, brands can offer products and experience personalized to each traveler,” said Expera Thailand partner Anix Lynch.

Bellugg plans to tap into the US$1.2 billion tourism industry in Southeast Asia by tackling its major pain points. The company said it’s seeing a shift from group inclusive tours to free independent travelers, which it considers as its main customers.

“Thailand will always be one of the top destinations for travelers around the world. We foresee the amount of inbound tourists to increase 10% to 12% annually,” said Bellugg co-CEO and co-founder Sipavich Dhumrongvaraporn.

To date, Bellugg has established partnerships with companies such as Thai Airways, AirAsia, Bangkok Airlines, Minor Hotels, St. Regis, The Peninsula, HIS Travel, and JTB.
