Sky Mavis has added five new organizations to its validator node pool in light of the recent US$620 million hack of Ronin Network – the company’s official sidechain wallet for its hit game Axie Infinity.

The Vietnam-based startup said it would be onboarding Nansen, Delphi Digital, Stable Node, Animoca Brands, and Dialectic as additional Ronin validators, which would add more layers of defense for the platform. It expects the move to be completed within this week.
According to Sky Mavis, it also aims to bolster its current source code to improve security and add decentralization functionality. The plan includes adding the option for setting withdrawal limits and enabling more governance functions.
The firm has also opened up applications for additional validators.
The development follows a security breach at Ronin Network, resulting in the looting of 173,600 ether and about US$25.5 million in stablecoins. On Monday, at least 2,000 ether from the hack had already been moved to privacy mixer service Tornado Cash – a move that typically prevents cryptocurrency from being tracked and frozen.
