Chaos Online is set to host a monthly regional tournament with a $10,000 prize pool. The tournament is open to all interested players from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The “Korean DOTA”
Dubbed the ‘Korean DOTA’, Chaos Online is the newest free-to-play Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game developed by Neoact and published by Asiasoft. The concept is pretty much the same as popular MOBA games like DOTA, League of Legends (LoL) and Heroes of Newerth (HoN) except for notable differences such as the bigger mirrored map, different game modes, and the absence of a significant boss character like Roshan or Baron. This way, Chaos Online provides MOBA players with a sense of familiarity while being able to present a significantly unique experience compared to other MOBA games.
Competing for the $10,000 Prize Pool
The Chaos Online monthly SEA championship will run from August to December 2013 and will have two phases.
The first part will be the qualifier round for each country that will be held every third Saturday of the month. In this stage, 16 five-man teams compete in a best-of-one (Bo1) single elimination format. The winner of the qualifier will then move on to the regional finals event, this time in a 5-versus-5 round robin format. The regional finals will be held every fourth weekend of the month.

- Champion – US $400
- Second place -US $300
- Third place -US $200 (Updated: Prize amount corrected)
- Fourth place – US$100
Monthly regional finals prizes
- Champion – US $3000
- Second place – US $1500
- Third place – US $500
There will be a maximum of 16 teams each with five players per game and one reserve player. Registration opens at 6 p.m. Singapore time (GMT+8) every first Monday of the month and ends at the same time on the third Monday of the month.
