It has tied up with several local partners because regulations and user behavior vary in different Southeast Asian countries. The partnerships will also add diverse payment methods to the Omise products, covering all sizes of merchants from startups to Airlines.
2. Airtasker | Australia (Techlist Profile)
Airtasker is an Australian local task services marketplace for freelance tasks and odd jobs offered by anyone looking to make extra income. Services cover areas from specialized tasks such as handyman work and photography to simple delivery jobs. It monetizes by charging percentage-based commissions on completed tasks.
3. Hackr.io | Indonesia (Techlist Profile)
Hackr.io is a crowdsourced tutorial platform where users submit tutorials, which are listed category-wise. They get voted up and down by visitors to the site, so that you can find the most liked tutorials on top in any list. There’s something for everyone, from Ruby on Rails and Google Analytics to popular ones like Python and Android Development.
4. Vedantu | India
Bangalore-based Vedantu has developed tools to give live online tutoring sessions through in-built whiteboard, audio, and video technology. The six-month-old startup caters to students from grade six to 12. Besides monthly tuitions, it provides test prep coaching for competitive exams like National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE).
5. KFit | Singapore (Techlist Profile)
KFit is a monthly subscription that opens up dozens of health clubs in cities across Asia to its users. The service is aimed at people who don’t have gym memberships.
6. Aiwujiwu | China (Techlist Profile)
Aiwujiwu is a rental and second-hand home listing portal and transaction platform. The site allows for easy location-based visualization and searches, and many of its listings include video tours. It acts as a kind of virtual agent, allowing you to do things like book visits via your smartphone. The startup charges a 1% commission for home sales, but its rental services are free.
