1. Page365 | Thailand
Thailand’s Page365 provides a solution for sellers to set up an online store on Facebook. It works by providing a dashboard for Facebook sellers that separates out text into things like inquiries, orders, and complaints. Merchants pay a subscription to use it. This week the startup has secured seed funding from Inspire Ventures and Galaxy Ventures.
2. Blacklane | China
Online chauffeur-booking service Blacklane recently-announced a partnership with the country’s largest travel search engine: Baidu-owned Qunar. Chinese travelers can now hire a professionally-driven car, van, or SUV directly through the Qunar portal, which the company says attracts nearly 45 million monthly visitors.
3. Inkl | Australia
Australia’s Inkl is a mobile platform that curates content from major news outlets and provides it all in one place, like a ‘Spotify’ for journalism. The service is available to access via the website on any mobile device, with an iOS and Android app on the way.
4. Japanese Info | Japan
Users to Japanese Info will get to embrace a more genuine, less touristy side of Japan by receiving tips on the best restaurants and attractions recommended by locals in English. For now the tips on Japanese Info are offered only by his staff, but they are showing a strong knack for good topics.
5. JakPat | Indonesia
JakPat is a mobile app that lets companies survey a pool of segmented Indonesians and view their responses in real time, making the process of gathering consumer insights more efficient and accessible for those with low budgets. The service’s cheapest option starts at US$50 for polling 100 respondents with five questions.
6. Peekawoo | Philippines
Peekawoo is a dating app which swims defiantly against a tide of popular dating apps for straight people like Tinder and Skout, which are mostly about hookups. Instead, it caters to young women who still want to take a traditional but fun approach to dating.
