1. Rivigo | India (Startup Profile)

Gurgaon-headquartered Rivigo uses data, technology, and Internet of Things (IoT) to solve challenges in delivery logistics. Its services include temperature-controlled (“cold-chain”) supply systems, as well as full truckload and part truckload shipping. It claims to operate over 2,000 trucks, with the startup’s India network covering 150 locations.

2. JustRide | India (Startup Profile)

JustRide leases vehicles from individual car owners by providing them a minimum guarantee value. With its model, people like you and me can offer our car for rent and earn anywhere between US$90 and $180 a month. It’s a bit like Uber – but you don’t need to drive people around.

3. GuavaPass | Singapore (Startup Profile)

Singapore-based startup GuavaPass offers subscriptions to a number of fitness studios, classes, gyms, and other similar activities. it’s active in 10 cities across Asia and the Middle East. It’s now tailoring its offerings to each market.

4. Toast | Singapore (Startup Profile)

Toast wants to help migrant workers in Asia send money back home. It allows users to send money using its mobile app. The process is faster and easier than using money transfer operators. The app authenticates the user’s identity for each transaction with the smartphone’s front-facing camera, comparing the image with the user’s picture it has on file. Toast has managed to get remittance licenses in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UK.

5. Grofers | India (Startup Profile)

Launched in 2013, Grofers is an online-and-app based grocery delivery startup. Its website is seeing more than 1,000 orders a day. For the app, Grofers has introduced changes that allow customers to shop in one “superstore”, rather than break their orders into different batches.

6. Yoli | China (Startup Profile)

Beijing-based startup Yoli is an education startup offers Chinese speakers one-on-one English classes in an on-demand system similar to Uber’s. When a student requests an English class, any teacher can claim it if they’re available. The entire service is conducted through WeChat. For each 15 minute session, Yoli teachers earn US$4.
