As usual, we have quite a few Asian tech start-ups on our radar this week, from China, India, and Singapore. For folks who are interested in investing or partnering with these start-ups, drop us an email — hello[at]penn-olson[dot]com – anytime. No promise, but we’ll try our best to be the bridge.
And if you’re a tech start-up founder in Asia hoping to be featured, kindly send us your pitch here.
1. Miaozhen | China
China-based Moment Systems (or Miaozhen) announced this week that it has concluded a $20 million funding round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), and together with China Broadband Capital (CBC), Redpoint Ventures, and WPP Digital.
2. Codoon | China
A Chinese start-up (backed by Shanda) is trying to ride a new wave in health and fitness in the country with its multi-platform exercise app called Codoon.
3. TeliportMe | India
After months of teasing, the Indian startup TeliportMe has finally unveiled a slick new website, drifting completely away from its earlier Phototour.in avatar. For those who aren’t familiar with TeliportMe, it is based in Bangalore and is also the start-up behind the amazing Android panorama app 360 (see our recent review here).
4. Kanbox | China
The cloud storage service startup is reported to have raised $20 million in this latest funding round led by A-Fund.
5. Qianpin | China
While group-buying has slowed down in China (see our previous posts here and here), upcoming new start-up Qianpin is focusing on making e-commerce a localized experience. No group-buy or auction here, but instead Qianpin makes an effort to get merchandisers on board, offer discounted items (which can be purchased by oneself) and localization.
6. Summon Auntie | Singapore
