ESL Asia partners with Mineski for Dota 2 tournament, registrations now open

Asia had better be ready for one of the biggest and most anticipated Dota 2 tournaments of the year! In partnership with organizers of the Mineski Pro Gaming League, Mineski Events Team, Electronic Sports League (ESL) Asia has officially opened registration for Asian qualifiers for Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vitnam, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, and Japan. Teams from other Asian countries not included in the list may join the ‘Rest of Asia’ qualifiers. Interested teams may register via the following links for their respective qualifiers happening on the following dates:

• April 19 – Malaysia, Singapore
• April 20 – Philippines, Vietnam
• April 26 – Indonesia, Thailand
• April 27 – South Korea, Japan, Rest of Asia

The open qualifiers will follow a single elimination format and the top two teams for each qualifier will advance to the Southeast Asia Battle Royale on May 3 and 4. For Japan and Rest of Asia, only the champion team will qualify for the Battle Royale.

The SEA Battle Royale will consist of 16 teams playing in a group stage format where the winners will compete in a single elimination tournament to determine which two teams will head to the Asia.  Finals against six seeded teams that have yet to be announced.

The Asia Finals will have two rounds—the group stages and the double elimination round. The winner will represent Asia in the ESL One grand finals and compete against teams from Europe and America which include The International 2013 juggernauts Natus Vincere and The Alliance.

Fans who won’t be able to attend the grand finals in Germany may purchase the in-game ticket bundled with an in-game Compendium for $9.99 once it is made available in the Dota 2 store. Every purchase of the ticket adds $2.50 to the total prize pool and lets the community unlock rewards based on the following stretch goals:

• $0 – Battle Booster
• $10,000 – ESL One Frankfurt loading screen
• $20,000 – ESL One Frankfurt HUD
• $35,000 – “Jagged Vision” ward
• $50,000 – Earthshaker totem
• $75,000 – Pudge fat suit wrestling at the event
• $100,000 – Lifestealer set
• $150,000 – TobiWan cosplay during the Finals
• US$250,000 – To be announced

The ESL One finals will be held on June 28 and 29 in the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.
