It has been an exciting two days over here at Tech in Asia, as we saw eight startups take to the stage to battle at the Startup Arena Jakarta 2013 competition. Our judges – Nobutake Suzuki, Saemin Ahn, Khailee Ng, and Jimmy Rim – decided after much deliberation that the deserving winner of our fourth international conference goes to … drum rolls … Garuda Robotics!
The panel of judges was won over by the novelty and potential of this drone startup. Garuda Robotics successfully delivered a coffee cup to judges during its pitch. Following closely behind in second place is Bio3D, a Singapore-based startup creating a 3D printer that prints cells, bio-materials, and plastic. In third place is SmartBike, a Vietnam startup creating a device to prevent bike theft.
