Are you good enough to be one of Singapore’s Elite Four?

Victory Road is a path few get to tread. Only the strongest can get past its twists and turns to find themselves face to face with the Elite Four.

This year, however, you can do exactly that. Team Robo Video Games is organizing the 2014 Elite Four challenge, a Pokemon XY competition which will be held across the duration of the Campus Game Fest later this month. This is not a Pokemon Company sanctioned tournament, but still one well worth attending. The last Elite Four tournament held in Singapore took place in 2012, and featured the Pokemon Black and Pokemon White National Dex.

The 2014 Elite Four challenge will take place at ITE College Central, 2 Ang Mo Kio Drive, in Singapore, with Swiss qualifiers running on June 27 and 28 and top cut finals on June 29, 2014. The tournament format is flat doubles, adapted from the Pokemon Video Game Championships, with only Kalos dex Pokemon who must also be native to Kalos.

Registration is free and is not capped, but here is fair warning: Singapore’s Elite Four from 2012 are back and ready to defend their titles! You are also likely to meet Singapore’s first Pokemon World Championships qualifier, Low Wai Yin, in battle there. If you think you can face them down, sign up here. All players must bring their own Nintendo consoles and play on legitimate copies of Pokemon X or Pokemon Y. Winners can expect to take home prizes ranging from game coupons and vouchers to commemorative art prints and Elite Four trophies.
