We run Tech in Asia. Ask us anything!

NOTE: This AMA has ended. Find the Q&A in the comments.

Hello TIA community!

We’re Willis Wee, Maria Li, and Terence Lee – CEO, COO, and editor-in-chief of Tech in Asia (TIA), respectively – and this is your chance to ask us anything!

The AMA session will kick off at 2:30 p.m. SGT on Thursday, May 18.

To ask questions, head to the comments section here.

The sooner you ask questions, the more likely it’ll be answered! Need a reminder of when the AMA runs? You can add it to your calendar by clicking here.

Willis focuses on how Tech in Asia can deliver on its mission of building and serving the region’s tech and startup ecosystem. He cares deeply about TIA’s content and products and spends a lot of time speaking with users, founders, and colleagues to gain new perspectives on how to make the company’s vision a reality.

After working as head for Asia Pacific at Apple, Maria joined TIA in January 2019. She oversees daily operations and finances while brainstorming how the company can evolve into a better platform for its readers and clients. She previously described her COO role as being “basically the janitor” of TIA.

Terence joined TIA as managing editor in 2013 before becoming editor-in-chief four years later in 2017. He leads an editorial team that delivers investigative journalism, data, infographics, analysis, and live reporting to thousands of paying subscribers and hundreds of thousands of readers each month.

He’s also involved in all aspects of editorial operations, from high-level strategic planning and shoe-leather reporting to tinkering with no-code tools and experimenting with AI.

You can ask them anything you want, but here are some ideas to get your juices flowing:

  • Ask Willis how he’s had to adapt his vision for TIA over the years, and his biggest challenges as a founder
  • Ask Maria how she’s molded company culture across countries and through a pandemic
  • Ask Terence what goes into investigative reporting, and how he’s been testing AI in the newsroom

Note from Peter, TIA’s community content editor: The hosts may choose to not answer particular questions. The AMA is moderated by the community managers, so let’s keep the questions civil. 🙂
