Check out the first Filipino-made game to be featured globally on Google Play

Altitude Games, a Manila-based mobile gaming studio, today announced the worldwide release of its game Run Run Super V on Google Play.
The studio’s founder Gabby Dizon tells Tech in Asia the game is “the first Philippine game to be featured globally on Google Play.”
“It shows the quality of games being developed here and hopefully, paves the way for more games from Altitude and the rest of the Filipino game development community to succeed worldwide in the future,” he says.
Run Run Super V is a 2D action game that allows players to form their own “ranger squadron” and battle with evil forces.
The game previously soft-launched in Southeast Asia and is now hitting other Google Play stores for the first time. As of this posting, it is featured in 23 different countries, including the US, according to mobile app analytics App Annie.

Inspired by sentai TV shows
Do you remember those sentai TV shows like Voltron and Voltes V in the 90s? Those were the inspiration for Run Run Super V.
“We all loved watching sentai and super robot shows growing up,” says Jan Rey Solomon, product manager at Altitude Games. “We hope people around the world enjoy playing it as much as we did making it.”
In the game, players run across the city and use various power-ups to defeat enemies. They jump into vehicles to fly through the air and blast enemies away. When they reach the run distance goal, players volt in to form their own super robot, Robo V. The final challenge pits Robo V against a giant alien monster. All gameplay types use casual one-touch controls, such as tapping and swiping.
Completing stages unlocks an “endless mode,” where players run as far as they can to compete with others on the leaderboards. Adding to the game experience is a well-stocked store, where users can customize their rangers (and even the evil minions), and purchase power-ups and perks.
Run Run Super V is available to download for free on Google Play.
Dizon says they will release an iOS version before the end of the year. “We launched the game on Google Play first because we can iterate very quickly on the Android platform […] The majority of game players in Southeast Asia are also on Google Play, allowing us to get feedback from lots of users.”
