An Indonesian startup that creates virtual humans raises pre-seed funding
Genexyz, an Indonesia-based virtual reality startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of pre-seed funding from Future Creative Network, Infia Group, and Ekonomi Baru Investasi Teknologi – a subsidiary of local football club Bali United. The fundraise also saw participation from Benz Budiman, co-founder of local marketing firm Pomona.

Founded earlier this year, Genexyz helps companies that want to develop virtual influencers better reach their end-customers. Through the startup’s services, clients can determine the character and behavior of their generated influencers to match their needs.
The company was established by Belinda Luis – who also founded VR and augmented reality firm Titan Tech – along with OU Creative co-founder Christian Melvin and Tanda Seru founder Adrianka Anka.
Recently, Genexyz partnered with digital music platform Ujung-Ujungnya Dangdut to create a virtual singer named Laverda Salsabila. Both companies plan to organize a music tour for Salsabila that will cover several Indonesian cities.
The VR startup will also build more virtual humans through a partnership with Infia Group, one of its investors. The group has several media properties such as Dagelan, Volix, and Folkative.
