Launched just recently, a new Indonesia-based start-up called DealGoing proclaimed itself as the number one meta social commerce website and daily deals aggregator in Asia. It sounds like a very bold claim for a start-up, doesn’t it?
While we’re not exactly sure what ‘meta social commerce’ means, the ‘daily deals aggregator’ term is far easier to understand. Simply put, the DealGoing website acts as a catalogue of various daily deals from several social commerce websites. There’s also a voucher ranking based on popularity and sales. In short, it offers a simple solution by combining the best discount vouchers from social commerce and presenting them all under one roof.
Interestingly, there are no specific criteria or requirements to become a company partner. Just simply provide the social commerce XML script (or RSS feed) and your site will be featured on DealGoing.com.
Some of you may be aware of a similar start-ups offering the same kind of service – SuperBestDeal. But Edward Kim, the founder and CEO of DealGoing and also a PhD candidate in University of Indonesia, believes his company will be able to compete:
We have more features such as shopping bag and wish list which do not appear on our competitors’ website. And most importantly, we will present in five countries in the Asia region.
For discount hunters the website should prove invaluable. And with the company’s plan to broaden its service in Singapore (to be launched very soon), Malaysia, Philippines, and Korea, many shoppers across the region will be able to benefit from its service. Or perhaps, there are far too many of such daily deal aggregator sites in the market right now that users just don’t pay much attention to them… It all boils down to execution after all huh? We look forward to see how DealGooing will execute its plans.
