Axie Infinity developer names 12 projects for Builders Program

Sky Mavis, the developer of play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, has announced the 12 projects that have been accepted into its Builders Program that will introduce user-generated content into the Axie ecosystem.

The Builders Program serves as a laboratory for community-created games and experiences. It aims to reward community developers who help strengthen the Axie Infinity community’s ability to create gaming experiences and tools on top of the platform.

Teams that are chosen to be part of the program will receive a minimum grant of US$10,000 in AXS tokens – the governance token of Axie Infinity – for their projects; exclusive access to tech integrations such as Ronin Single-Sign-On and Ronin wallet transactions; and guidance from engineering, game design, and product teams.

“Community co-creation is a guiding north star of the Axie Infinity ecosystem and will be a fundamental driver of scaled-value generation over time,” said Philip La, game product lead at Axie Infinity.

The selected teams will also be allowed to monetize their game using the intellectual property of Axie Infinity, with a “generous” revenue-sharing model aimed at rewarding builders. Sky Mavis will also promote builders’ projects within its community.

The projects that have been accepted into the Builders Program are:

• Inter the Dungeon: A dungeon crawler game where players spend smooth love potion (SLP) tokens and daily energy to enter different themed dungeons and resolve them. If the player doesn’t resolve the revealed room, they lose, and anything they’ve collected in that run is lost.
• Defenders of Lunacian Land: A survival action game where players control an automatically attacking Axie while fighting against enemies.
• Axie To The Moon: An action shooting mobile game that allows players to travel the infinite universe in Axie Infinity.
• Hungry Axie: A game where Axies eat each other based on their types. The bigger the Axie gets after eating other Axies, the more points and SLP tokens it earns.
• Axieology: A game where players get to spend time with their Axies to bond, eat food, and grow plants. Players can battle with their Axies against fight-off creatures called Chimeras by building towers together.
• Lunacia Cup: A game where pets race and run in the rolling hills and steep mountains across the land to compete in a skill-based match.
• Run Axie Run: A game that lets players use their Axies to collect resources and battle foes for a run-off that determines which Axie can run the furthest.
• AxiePop: A free-to-play game where players have to beat enemies by popping Axies and earning rewards.
• Axie Infinity War: A battle royale game where 10 players fight each other and win rewards. The game lets the Axie community try a new genre to test their gaming experience using Axies and SLP.
• Axie Brawl: A game where each player controls one Axie and has to cooperate with their teammates to strategize against opponents and become the champion. The variety of Axie parts, equipment, and maps makes sure every match is unique, allowing players to change strategies on the spot.
• Mech Infinity: A battle royale game where Axie holders acquire Axie Mechs and participate in battles to win rewards in cryptocurrencies such as SLP, AXS, or NFTs.
• Across Lunacia: A pixel art game where players can embark on adventures for free if they own an Axie.
