Co-founders Mainul Hasan Alin and Sanzar Adnan lost money following stock tips from social media influencers. They noticed a gap; while Wall Street analysts are rated, more than 500,000 financial influencers (finfluencers) advising a new generation of investors faced no such scrutiny.
After testing AI platforms like Perplexity and Grok, they realized none could identify the most accurate social media analyst. So, the duo built TraderBro to create the missing dataset.
😟 Problem
Hundreds of thousands of finfluencers give stock tips on social media with no accountability. This affects retail investors in their 20s and 30s, as 48% of Gen Z get investment ideas from these sources. Many act on these tips without any way to verify the person’s track record.
The issue also extends to financial institutions, such as The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. They are cracking down on non-compliant finfluencer partnerships, with firms like M1 Finance and Public.com have faced significant fines due to limited monitoring tools.
💡 Solution
TraderBro uses AI to track and score stock predictions from finfluencers across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and X. It analyzes posts, extracts measurable predictions, and compares them to real market performance to generate a data-backed accuracy score for each influencer.
Key product features include:
- Accuracy Leaderboard: Ranks finfluencers based on their verified prediction performance.
- Analyst Profiles: Shows an finfluencer’s win-loss record, accuracy percentage, and other performance metrics.
- Symbols View: Allows users to see every finfluencer who has predicted a specific stock.
- Claim Your Call: A feature for influencers to formally submit predictions and build a verified track record.
