Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but the AI race is heating up.
It’s not just in the boardroom, where companies like OpenAI and Anthropic speed toward IPOs. There are also telltale signs of an arms race in the job market. Case in point: the latest update to our AI hiring in Singapore tracker by my colleague Duc.
Since we last refreshed this story about a month ago, OpenAI has added 22 more open roles in the city-state to make for a total of 37. While the company’s major rivals Anthropic and xAI are only hiring for a few positions in Singapore, others are also recruiting aggressively.
Plaud, a US-based startup developing AI note-taking devices, is a new player to the scene in Singapore. The company, which sees the city-state as a key hub for R&D, is hiring for 26 positions as of mid-June.
