1. Now Money | United Arab Emirates

Now Money is an app that helps low-income workers access critical services like remittances and bank transfers. Users can remit money to their home countries through the app itself rather than going to a moneychanger and paying the arbitrage fees. Workers can also compare modes of remittance, such as bank transfers or local pickup, and decide what suits them best.

2. Ray IoT | India (Startup Profile)

Bangalore-based startup Ray IoT’s product is a device to monitor sleeping babies. It lets parents know on their mobile devices if their baby is sleeping well, if it has rolled over, and if it’s breathing normally. Unlike other baby monitors, it doesn’t touch the baby, so it’s non-intrusive.

3. VAV | Malaysia (Startup Profile)

VAV uses inaudible sound waves to transmit actionable messages to smartphones, which it bills as a new way for businesses to engage consumers. The sound waves travel through audio-visual content coming from any form of media, including TV, radio, websites, Facebook, and YouTube.

4. Entropik Technology | India (Startup Profile)

AI startup Entropik Technology seeks to make interactions between humans and machines seamless. The startup is building the tech that reads your interactions and gauges how you feel while you’re performing them. It currently has two clients in the US and five in India. It charges a monthly fee of US$5 per 1,000 users.
