The Acheevit Team Talks Work with Mig33, Shares Startup Experience [INTERVIEW]

You might recall Acheevit, a Beijing-based startup working on an interesting B2B sales solution, from our Startups in Asia Singapore event earlier this year. Basically, the company provides real-time performance information and feedback to sales teams by applying techniques from social media, analytics and gamification to increase the motivation for salespeople. We recently sat down with Nicky and Mike from Acheevit at their office in eastern Beijing to learn more about Acheevit, their experience running a startup in Beijing, and their new deal with mig33.

In case you can’t see the video, here’s a basic summary: Acheevit comes in two parts: a desktop application and a web dashboard. The idea is to give managers and fellow-team members real time information about sales and team goals while also increasing motivation through rewards and other game-like features. Today is actually the company’s official launch of its software with its first client, mig33. But the software is still in development, so the team is very excited to get feedback and will continue working to improve the product even as they pursue new clients.

Nicky and Mike both spoke highly of Beijing as an atmosphere to launch a startup, saying that “it keeps you focused” because there aren’t a million things going on to distract like there would be in Silicon Valley. The trade-off, of course, is that the startup ecosystem here isn’t as developed, so it can be harder to find investment.

Elaborating on the deal with mig33, founder Nicky Szmala said he met mig33 CEO Steven Goh during his time at the Founder Institute in Singapore. He pitched the idea behind Acheevit, and Goh was interested enough that they kept in touch. Eventually, he became an advisor, and when mig33 had an opportunity, the Acheevit team conducted interviews with sales staff and that provided them with the information they needed to develop the product they’ve launched today at mig33.
