There’s going to be a new Ace Attorney compilation for the 3DS and we probably won’t get it

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations are going to come together in one magical 3DS cartridge in Japan that should cost you about $40.

Given that Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies only made it to an English-speaking audience as a digital download, our hopes are not high for this compilation making it outside of Japan.

What further confirms our suspicions is a special limited deal where you can buy a 70 minute long audio drama performed by the games’ vocal cast. This will bump the price of the cartridge up to $50 and lessens the chances of an international edition of the game by a lot, since its duration means it will probably never be translated and re-recorded with an English cast.

Still, if you’re one of the lucky few to have a Japan 3DS, you can try to get your hands on this on April 17, 2014. We’ll update if we have further info, but in the meantime, us poor bastards who can only understand English can continue to wallow in self-pity. Check out the box art here:
