TI4 Compendium raises $3.5 million prize pool that is still growing, more than half of stretch goals unlocked

Last year, the Dota 2 community set the record for the biggest prize pool for a single eSports event by contributing to The International 2013‘s $2,874,380 prize pool. Now, that record has been broken.

In less than 24 hours since The International 2014 (TI4) Compendium went on sale over the weekend, the community has been able to raise almost $1.3 million on top of this year’s base $1.6 million prize pool. Like last year, this has been possibly through purchases of the Compendium, which adds $2.50 out of every $9.99 purchase of it. Fans can also buy points to level up their Compendium, with every 25 percent of those purchases going to the prize pool as well.

At the time of writing, the prize pool is approximately $3.5 million and still growing, with almost eight of the thirteen stretch goals unlocked. Here’s the current status of the stretch goals:

The International 2014 Compendium is available for $9.99 here. You can also purchase it in-game by either going to the Store tab or by clicking on the purple Compendium icon on the upper right corner of the screen and clicking on “activate”.
