The Hong Kong film Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy is being called the world’s first 3D porn. And according to The Guardian, Chinese tour groups are planning special trips to Hong Kong and Taiwan to see it. As you might expect, the film is not expected to be shown in mainland China, even though it would surely induce enormous amounts of harmony.
Now I’m no porn expert (contrary to what you may have heard) but there have been other experiments in 3D adult entertainment before. Penthouse announced another world’s first just recently, a 3D Adult Channel. Technically though, I suppose that’s not porn. And neither are the 3D photos of Japanese pin-up model Ai Amano, which have been made available with instructions to view on the new Nintendo 3DS.
From the looks of the trailer (warning: NSFW, I’m still washing my eyes out with soap) the Sex and Zen film is going to be far more… um… titillating in comparison. Judging by these initial scenes, the cinematography appears to be taking full advantage of the 3D platform.
