Bouncity Hits 16,000 Users, 325,000 Completed Challenges in A Month
The first month is always tough for most start-ups. Many fInd no tractions, or attract very few early adopters. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for Bouncity, the location-based service, which launched early last month. I talked with Kevin Osmond, the COO of Bouncity, and he went over some of Bouncity statistics with me. .
In the first two hours after the service launched they got 2,500 users. And within a month they had 16,000 users with over 325,000 challenges completed — that amounts to about 20 activities per user per month. While it sounds pretty good for most of us, Osmond feels that the figure could be higher. He says that Bouncity plans to expand to other countries with a year-end target of two million users.
So far there are five merchants which have activated their campaigns: Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Tin Pan Alley, Bakmi GM, and Dairy Queen. And there are even more on the way as Sour Sally, Heavenly Blush, and 7-11 are coming up next. These deals will only help boost Bouncity exposure among young people in Indonesia.
One of the biggest upcoming campaigns for the service is L.A Festive Sound, a concert that has employed a Groupon-style sales tactic. Bouncity is the Official Gaming App for the event, with a Blackberry phone as the grand prize. The event will be attended by 10,000 people with a great line-up of bands performing, including Boyce Avenue.
With its Blackberry App already launched, Bouncity plans to launch an Android and iOS mobile app later this month. We have seen its iOS App first-hand (picture above) and it promises a sleek user interface and has a lovely user experience. I’m confident that the iPhone users in Indonesia or abroad will enjoy the app once they get their hands on it.
