I’m Sayantan Das, managing director of Foodpanda Malaysia. Ask me anything!

NOTE: This AMA has ended. Find the Q&A here.

Hello TIA Community!

My name is Sayantan, managing director of Foodpanda Malaysia. Globally, Foodpanda works with over 27,000 partner restaurants in 190 cities across 12 countries in Asia and Europe. In Malaysia alone (where we’re also celebrating our sixth anniversary), we work with over 1,600 partner restaurants in the Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor.

My day revolves around managing the end-to-end commercial and operational aspects of the business while at the same time developing key strategies to tackle challenges within the complex food delivery marketplace. I have great respect for the various cultures and traditions practiced across Southeast Asia, having personally spent over 20 years living in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Feel free to ask me anything, especially on the following topics:

  • What is Foodpanda’s reach locally and regionally?
  • What makes Foodpanda different from the rest?
  • What has changed the customers’ attitude towards food delivery in the past few years?
  • How does Foodpanda preserve the quality of the food being delivered?
  • What is it like to work at Foodpanda?
  • What are some of the challenges Foodpanda faces?

I look forward to all of your questions!

Thanks again Sayantan for doing this AMA! We’ve now come to the end of the live session – here’s my closing question: What advice would you like the TIA community to take away from this AMA?

– Putra Muskita

Hi Putra,

This has been great! Thanks again for having me šŸ™‚

My suggestion would be – always think of what your customer would want you to do in situations that you find challenging; stay close to your customers and manage their expecations as best as possible.
