12 Startups in Asia That Caught Our Eye

1. Imotiv | Singapore

Launched this week, Imotiv (previously known as NuffnangX) is a mobile blog reader application that enables users to discover new blogs and share interesting stories. Imotiv is currently run by an independent team under Netccentric, which also runs Nuffnang, Jipaban, and ChurpChurp.


2. Reebonz | Singapore

Reebonz is a Singapore-based luxury VIP e-store that offers short-duration, online private sales that are exclusively open to members only. The company announced that it has completed a massive financing round led by Singapore’s TV and publishing giant MediaCorp.


3. Viss | Hong Kong

Founded last September, Hong Kong-based social fashion and commerce platform Viss has received a round of strategic seed investment this week from Clive Ng and Christian Remrod via their company 8 Plus Holding. The startup has also shown impressive growth at more than over 400 percent in terms of unique visitors.


4. Aloxeom | Vietnam

Aloxeom is a web-based service that connects passengers with motorbike taxi drivers for a ride in Hanoi, Vietnam. The team of five has only been working on this project since early March and is looking to expand it into Ho Chi Minh city and Danang by the end of the year.


5. EatAds | Singapore

EatAds, the Singapore-based startup that’s an online platform for buying and selling offline adverts, has revealed this week that it has entered the Indian market. Just as the online ads industry has been revolutionized by such services, EatAds aims to do the same for outdoor and out-of-home (OOH) media.


6. Tinker Games | Indonesia

Indonesian game studio Tinker Games has released its flagship game Inheritage: Boundary of Existence for iOS. It’s a horizontal shoot’em up adventure game that combines Indonesian culture, anime-style artwork, and a visual novel. It’s aimed at a global audience.
